Position and direction

I devised this to assess children with their position and direction understanding. I used a hoola hoop and post it notes to support the visual learners. Children used the post it notes to find N,E,S,W on their hoops. I extended it to NE, SE, SW, NW for Haps. The children also wrote the degrees of turn on each post it note. I then used string across the hoops to show quarters, eigths etc... The children stood in the particular direction and then moved according to the instructions.
