This is a video guide to making a painted self-portrait. It contains everything you need to get started including every stage of production from drawing out to introducing high lights and low lights to the finished portrait. This painting was completed in acrylic on board. It is best used in KS4 or KS5 as a guide to portraits. It helps the pupils see the different stages of production and how their work fits into the project. The video is just over 6 minutes so is perfect for a starter activity for any exam based lesson. Please remember that you are able to stop, pause and discuss the different stages at any point. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy

An amazing painting and was good to see each stage.
However, I found the transition / animation very off putting.
It also would have been good to see a photograph of yourself so the students could see how you were building up the skin tones.
