Sound plan, should last approx. 8 weeks, covering all objectives on the NC as well as a range of working scientifically objectives The plan is fully differentiated for each lesson. Originally planned for Year 4 however could be adapted for other year groups. Also included are all relevant resources.

Week 1 - Concept cartoon - prior knowledge
Week 2 - Vocabulary lesson
Week 3 - To identify how sounds are made, associating some of them with something vibrating.
Week 4 - To identify how sounds are made, associating some of them with something vibrating.
To find patterns between the volume of a sound and the strength of the vibrations that produced it (input – drama).
Week 5 -To recognise patterns between the volume of a sound and the strength of the vibrations that produced it (starter).
To find patterns between the pitch of a sound and features of the object that produced it.
Week 6/7 -To recognise that vibrations from sounds travel through a medium to the ear.
To investigate the best method to sound proof an alarm clock.
Week 8 - Repetition of concept cartoon for assessment purposes
