A complete lesson, PowerPoint and resources for the book ’The Boy In The Striped Pyjama’s ’ By John Boyne

This is a lesson that teaches how emotive language is used to build empathy for characters and action.

This is lesson 9 in a series of 12. The whole scheme of work is available.

The whole scheme includes 12 full lessons, each fully resourced, and including a detailed PPT. The scheme culminates in the class writing a short story, along a similar theme to the original text, using all of the descriptive techniques learned and developed during the series of lessons. The unit begins with a cold task, and ends with the short story planning and writing (hot task)

This scheme was incredibly engaging and produced brilliant pieces of writing.
