A scheme of work that contains lessons which are designed to support the teaching of The Civil Rights Movement.

The resources complement AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC GCSE History and iGCSE History.

01 - The Experience of African Americans - Slavery, Abraham Lincoln, American Civil War and the 13th Amendment
02 - Jim Crow and ‘Separate but Equal’ in 1920s America
03 - The Rise of the KKK within the USA during the 1920s
04 - The Incarceration of the Grand Dragon and the Fall of the KKK
05 - Racial Tension within 1920s America
06 - The Impact of the Second World War on African Americans
07 - Brown Vs. Board of Education of Topeka, 1954
08 - The Death of Emmett Till, 1955
09 - Montgomery Bus Boycott, 1956
10 - Little Rock High School, 1957

12 - Freedom Rides, 1961
13 - Birmingham, Alabama, 1963
14 - I Have a Dream - March on Washington, 1963

The resources that I have created have helped my GCSE History classes to sustain outstanding results over a period of time:

2022 P8: +0.88 and +0.81
2021 P8: +1.42
2020 P8: +0.47
2019 P8: +0.57

My GCSE History classes have also consistently attained the most Grade 9s in any subject and/or class at my current school of over 1300 students.

I have worked for the examination boards for over 10 years and considering the recent developments within education, my resources are constantly amended and updated for students studying GCSE History. I have utilised feedback from students, fellow professionals, experienced colleagues and have used my own professional judgement to ensure that each resource will help you to teach quality history lessons to ensure that each student achieves their personal best.

I am proud that I am a ‘Gold’ TES Author, and this is recognised by the fact that my resources have been downloaded over half a million times by educators throughout the world.

Hi I have bought this bundle and the resources are excellent, one problem though, the package labelled The experience of african americans is actually the Rosa Parks unit, the Rosa Parks unit is also Rosa Parks so I am missing the slavery, Abe Lincoln one. Could you send me a replacement for that package please?
