thinking skills 10min exercises KS2

A powerpoint containing 14 literacy and 14 numeracy questions, aimed at encouraging children to think creatively and logically. Literacy Q example: ‘how would you describe an elephant to someone who has never seen one before?’. All questions have colourful backgrounds to stimulate the children’s thoughts. I made this for a Year 5 class, but it could be equally well applied to all KS2. I’m an overworked GTP student so please leave any feedback you can, it will help me with my evidence!

Thank you - I would make the images calmer to get them thinking and not hyper. Still great.

A very good idea. I will take the concept and find images somewhere like Pinterest and construct my own questions more suited to pupils in my context SLD. Thank you for the idea!

Thank you great for a morning exercise or odd 10 min filler to get children thinking and talking.

Thankyou. This has actually helped with ideas for a Primary ITT interview, where I need to deliver a 20 min activity to a handful of yr4s that motivates discussion and develops speaking, listening and literacy skills. I have picked, adapted, and made printer-friendly a few for them to chose between in pairs.
Hope your GTP went well and that's your still in and enjoying teaching.
