UKMT Club:Success in the Team Challenge!

This is a resource to help teachers who have the responsibility to run their school’s KS3 UKMT Club, and wish to support their students to place higher in the UKMT Team Challenge.

At these events there are often many teams who have practised a lot of UKMT papers, but have little to no idea of successful team strategies, or even how the rounds work. This resource will help you train your team to achieve greater success in these events.

This content is the synthesised wisdom from almost ten years of attending UKMT events (pre-COVID!).

It contains:
• A brief description and summary of the UKMT competitions, and their style and content
• A series of at least 6 lessons to help students learn techniques and strategies in the Team Maths Challenge Crossnumber round.
• A series of at least 4 lessons to help students prepare for the Team Maths Challenge Shuttle Round
• Individual slides explaining the Relay and Group Rounds, with suggested strategies.
• Advice on what to prioritise in your own personal UKMT Club
