This Valentine’s Day pack gives two fun ways to practise making 2-digit numbers using chocolate “tens” and “ones” with a digital version and a hands-on craft version.

With the digital version, there are 10 slides in which students add the tens and ones and move the correct number onto the note, and 10 slides in which students move chocolate “tens” and “ones” into the chocolate box to make the number shown on the note.

This activity can be used in PowerPoint or on Google Classroom™.

With the printable version, students cut and paste the chocolate “tens” and “ones” into the chocolate box and complete maths sentences to practise writing the 2-digit number as tens and ones, an addition sentence, a combined number, and a number bond.

The finished boxes would look great on a display.

With the download you will get a PowerPoint file and a link to copy the slides into your Google Drive™, so you can choose what works best for you.

59 pages included

I hope your students enjoy practising their place value skills with this activity.
