Lesson 1 in a SOW on: The Geography of Crime
Expected lesson length 45 minutes.
This lesson is aimed at KS3. *The SOW contains some themes that may not be appropriate for younger pupils. *
The Powerpoint contains all of the resources required. Sentence Starters and Challenge activities provide some differentiation throughout, I use lots of oral feedback in this lesson to check understanding and progress.
A starter activity is on the first slide. (I normally go back to the A-Z activity throughout the Scheme of Work in subsequent lessons to add key words).
The Round Robin group activity assumes pupils are familiar with how this works, you may need to change how this is delivered to suit. The images for the Round Robin are contained in the slide, I printed these out (small postcard size)
Mini Plenaries are contained throughout.
