This is an activity that helps children to identify if they are an inchworm or grasshopper in their mathematical learning. Good for a first lesson activity Pupils have to do the maths questions but the focus isn't on if they get it right or not it&'s about the process. The slides help to explain what is specific about each type of learner.

This is a nice resource because it provides plenty of scope for discussion about methods to solve problems. This discussion can help other students in a class to see different methods to what they've been taught and also develops their explanation skills.
