I used this writing frame with an unfamiliar year one class and it worked really well. I showed the children a ppt re our local area/weekend activities first, and then got the class to hot seat me to ask questions on ppt. I modelled the answer orally and on whiteboard. The word bank at the bottom of the writing frame could easily be changed as with time words etc.
