The children really enjoy creating a beautiful symmetrical piece of patch work which can be hung together all year as a lovely colourful display. I am proud of my original idea, inspired by a book on Amish patchwork. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK! No sowing involved! I used fabric glue instead! A great project for the autumn term. The Smart board slides show examples of what the patch work piece might look like but the slides and lesson plans take them step by step through creating their own unique piece. There is an overview of the project with learning objectives.

Thank you so much! I was dreading the Year 3 Fabric Pattern topic but this saved me so much time! I used some of your planning for a few ideas but it was the resources and the examples of children's work which were the most useful. Unfortunately it is only a very short term for us and we only have 2 lessons left, so it will be very interesting to see how these turn out! THANK YOU!

Thank you so much - i used your resource with my yr 3 class and they really enjoyed it. We used fabric glue and then introduced a tiny bit of sewing on of sequins, flowers etc at the end!
