This lesson looks at bird life cycles as part of the National Curriculum topic ‘Living Things and their Habitats’ for Year 5. It was originally taught as lesson 3 in the sequence, but it could come anywhere within the topic.
Children first reflect on the characteristics of birds then look at some examples of a bird life cycle. Their challenge is then to create a clear and informative infographic showing the life cycle of a bird of their choice. There is an optional template included for children to use to create their infographic.
You could choose to have children create their posters by hand, or they could use an app such as PicCollage to dreate their infographics.
