Year 1 and 2 Handwriting Booklet

(0)
This bundle allows pupils to practise their handwriting from a very basic level. This pack is appropriate across both KS1 and KS2. There are 3 documents provided in this bundle. Each individual document is 39 pages long. The 1st document is ideal for those children in your class who who are really struggling with the formation of their individual lowercase letters. Each letter that is provided has arrows indicating to the child where they should start and where they should finish. It also indicates the order in which the child should be forming their strokes. The full alphabet has been printed in font sizes 50, 40 and 30. This is so that you can easily print the sheets separately if you wish. Towards the end of the pack, there is a separate section. Again, this can be printed separately if prefered. On each page within this section, the child is provided with 2 pictures, which they can trace outside, and then colour in. Above the image is the word which again, they will need to write. The 2nd and 3rd pack are similar in terms of the structure. However, the 2nd pack provides the children with text written which is written with ‘dots’ which sit on guidelines. Children are to trace these letters which will help with their letter formation. The 3rd document removes the guide lines, but still provides the ‘dots’ for the children. Please leave reviews and any feedback. I will try and respond make any changes that are required.

Sentence Writing Intervention Booster

(1)
A sentence writing intervention booster that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children who are struggling with sentence writing. The PowerPoint covers five weeks worth of activities and introduces children to 35 of the 100 high frequency words/hfw. Each week covers reading the focus high frequency words, writing the focus words, cutting and sticking words to make a sentence and then writing a dictated sentence. I have used this activity to encourage children to write sentences with capital letters and full stops and to hold and repeat the sentence in their head. The intervention helps children to gain confidence when they are writing sentences. Included is the title, pockets for each child either with a unicorn or dragon with photo or with just their name, signs for each area in your provision which detail the task, and a certificate for those who complete or do good work etc. Everything is editable so that you easily chnage the tasks week by week.

Primary Writing Curriculum Coverage Checklists! (Year 1-6)

(1)
These checklists provides an academic overview of the writing curriculum content to be covered year-by-year from Year 1-6. I provided these to teachers in my own school, who marked the individual elements of the curriculum as they were covered (their aim was to ‘tick’ each element twice over an academic year). They have found it extremely useful, as it offers a useful breakdown of the curriculum statements into the individual components to be taught, which is not always as self-explanatory as one would assume! It is broken down into Composition, Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation, Spelling, and Handwriting sections. Please note that the spellings listed are indicative of the patterns to be learnt - it is not the exhaustive list. Furthermore, the composition section details our interpretation of what needs to be covered over a year, some schools vary from this. For this reason, the document is provided in Word, for easy editing. It is also provided as a PDF, to prevent formatting issues between computers. Hope that this proves helpful to you too!
