Helpful when choosing sounds to focus on leading up to phonics screening.
I made my own because I couldn’t find anything similar that met my needs.
updated 9/10 /19- the ‘th’ sound was listed as ‘t’ in error so please download the update if already purchased.

Using the Mini Grey book Traction Man and based on some T4W techniques.
Weeks are based on 4 sessions
Week 1 - includes gathering vocabulary, inference and drawing a story map.
Week 2 - includes grammar skills lessons using Traction Man.
Week 3 - includes using the structure to create their own adventure and writing up their story.
For this week we have our children part time so our plan is much more simplified.
There are circle time ideas and adult-led activities to support baseline assessments through age-appropriate activities.
There are also a range of continuous provision enhancements to engage children and again, hit some of your baseline assessments through play - none of that RBA iPad assessing here!
This is a weekly literacy plan based around Jack and the Beanstalk/ growing topic. It was used for a reception class but can be adapted for nursery or year 1.
It contains details of 5 whole class and 5 follow on adult led activities.
Phonics practice tests with QR codes. Simply scan with any smart device and practice. Used it in the classroom so children can easily upload the materials and practice. Also useful for parents evening as a handout, so children can practice at home.
For use alongside lesson observations and learning walks, this succinct performance grid enables observers to gauge and categorise teaching and learning sessions using OFSTED guidance for effective teaching. The first page of the document provides descriptors of 'outstanding', 'good', 'requires improvement' and 'inadequate' teaching within appropriately considered focus areas, for example: Questioning, Planning, Use of Additional Adults, etc. Schools that already employ this tool often opt to highlight the descriptors on this page as they observe, thus creating a bigger picture of the strengths and areas for improvement in the teaching and learning observed. Schools who still grade individual lessons have noted that this is a helpful aid in arriving at an overall judgement. The second page allows observers to further pinpoint and describe the 'www' (what went well) and 'ebi' (even better if) aspects of the lesson, in order to make feedback to teachers more clear.
Room on the Broom (by Julia Donaldson) sequencing sheet allows the children to re-call and re-tell the main events of the story. I have attached a completed copy of the correct order, a copy with titles for the children to add the pictures in as well as a totally blank copy for the children to add their own captions as well.
Could be used as a cutting and sticking activity or you could attach velcro to each of the boxes and the characters for the resource to be used over and over!
All the characters / objects are attached at the end to be cut out.
Sign Language, SSE, signing, signs, multi-channel communication, signs with words, manual alphabet, spelling.
This is a simple exercise to encourage awareness of some basic BSL signs and fingerspelling, based on making new words from the letters for MONDAY. Gives examples of words of 3 letters which then have to be linked to the BSL sign and the word written beneath.
