Colourful semantics for CVC words SEN ASD

(1)
Colourful semantics to go with 23 CVC words. I split these into 4 words per week (one week, has 3 words) and we work on spelling these words and using them in sentences, but this can be easily adapted if you wanted to use more words per week. I have included colourful semantics boards, from the basic Who, What doing, What, to more complex Who, What doing, What, Where, Why. I have laminated these for my class and differentiate so some of the students complete only the 3 word sentences and some complete the 4 or 5 word sentences, but using the same pictures. I have included 3 pictures of examples of students using the boards and words (I hav blanked out student names)

Little Mermaid Multi sensory story

(0)
This is a multi sensory, plain English version of The Little Mermaid. The story is based on the Ladybird Favourite tales version. It has been rewritten in simple language. The equipment is detailed so you can make a shopping list! The multi sensory elements are described throughout the story, but feel free to adapt to suit your needs, or if you have a better idea! I will be using the resource with secondary age, SEN (SLD / MLD/ complex needs) students for Literacy lessons. The ‘chapters’ are quite short, so each chapter can be used as a sensory story. I plan to do one chapter a week with my class. The use of multi sensory input helps students to retain and understand the information within the story. For more information about why sensory stories are beneficial Google Joanna Grace. I hope you enjoy using this story with your students! please review, so I can improve, th

Immerse young learners in the wonderful world of language with these worksheets tailored specifically for Early Years and Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. These worksheets are crafted to introduce and reinforce foundational literacy skills through the engaging activities of copying and tracing words. In the Early Years, where the journey of reading and writing begins, these worksheets serve as gentle guides. They provide a supportive platform for children to explore letter formations, connect sounds to symbols, and gradually develop their handwriting skills. The act of copying and tracing words not only enhances fine motor skills but also fosters an early connection between spoken and written language. For SEN students, these worksheets offer a unique opportunity for differentiated learning. They accommodate diverse needs and learning styles, providing an accessible path to language development. The structured format of copying and tracing words assists in building confidence, improving hand-eye coordination, and reinforcing essential vocabulary. I’m constantly striving to improve and provide the best resources for educators like you. Your feedback is invaluable in helping me achieve that goal. If you have a moment to spare, I’d really appreciate it if you could drop me a review.
