Hangman - Create your own for PowerPoint

(5)
Create your own hangman game to use in all kinds of lessons for keywords, phrases, quizzes etc. There is one simple PowerPoint slide that you can copy and paste for as many games as you need. It only require some short prep to use - just drag and drop the black lowercase (sassoon primary) letters onto the white box and you’re ready to go! During the lesson, play the slideshow and as kids shout out letters - click on the corresponding blue tile and watch the black letter spin in! If the letter is missing, click where the hangman is and the next consequence stage animates in. EDIT: Added a second PPT file - A Capital Letter version (both versions included in this one purchase) You can check out more info & screenshots at: https://markmolloyresources.wordpress.com/2017/03/13/hangman/

Primary Writing Curriculum Coverage Checklists! (Year 1-6)

(1)
These checklists provides an academic overview of the writing curriculum content to be covered year-by-year from Year 1-6. I provided these to teachers in my own school, who marked the individual elements of the curriculum as they were covered (their aim was to ‘tick’ each element twice over an academic year). They have found it extremely useful, as it offers a useful breakdown of the curriculum statements into the individual components to be taught, which is not always as self-explanatory as one would assume! It is broken down into Composition, Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation, Spelling, and Handwriting sections. Please note that the spellings listed are indicative of the patterns to be learnt - it is not the exhaustive list. Furthermore, the composition section details our interpretation of what needs to be covered over a year, some schools vary from this. For this reason, the document is provided in Word, for easy editing. It is also provided as a PDF, to prevent formatting issues between computers. Hope that this proves helpful to you too!

Phonics Screening Check (Generator)

(1)
This isn’t just one phonics screening check, or two…or three. This resource draws on a bank of over 1000 (editable) words to randomly generate 1000s of checks at just the push of a button. Answer sheets and pupil cards are randomly generated and then all you have to do is print and go! For each check, 40 words are generated (20 real words and 20 pseudo words) in line with the national checks and should be carried out in exactly the same way using the corresponding pupil cards. Also included is a colour coded tracking sheet to easily track pupils across the academic year. Enter names, enter scores and the spreadsheet will do the rest and calculate a class average, These resources are great to prepare pupils for the phonics screening check and to track pupils progress throughout the year.

Phonics Screening Poetry -Phase 5

(3)
This is a lovely way to revise Phase 5 and have a go at reading alien words ready for the Phonics Screening Check. The booklet includes a little poem to revise each Phase 5 sound, the children then need to look closely at the poem to find the words that have that sound in, as well as read the words in the grid and sort out the real words from the alien words. There is also a handy visualise page which I sometimes use to check if the children understand what the poem is about, it is another way of ticking off the comprehension and poetry objectives whilst still working on sounds!
