BW - Yellow bubble scaffold sheets (Pencil)

(0)
Like many primary school teachers I have tried a variety of handwriting schemes with varying degrees of success. Having thought through many common problems with handwriting I have developed a simple scaffold that places a bubble either side of the line to support letter formation. This simple scaffold provides a guide to consistently form cursive letters and ensure each letter is uniform in both height and width. Children are able to leave equal spaces between words and see clearly whether or not there is enough space at the end of each line for the next word they intend to write. These yellow scaffold sheets come in 4 different sizes and make it easier to see work done in pencil.

Bubble writing - non-cursive handwriting scaffold Like many primary school teachers I have tried a variety of handwriting schemes with varying degrees of success. Having thought through many common problems with handwriting I have developed a simple scaffold that places a bubble either side of the line to support letter formation. This simple scaffold provides a guide to consistently form printed letters and ensure each letter is uniform in both height and width. Children are able to leave equal spaces between words and see clearly whether or not there is enough space at the end of each line for the next word they intend to write. There has been a huge impact within my class in a very short space of time and I hope you will see similar benefits within your own setting. Included is a PowerPoint presentation including commonly misspelled words that can be printed as a handwriting pack for children to work through. Blank slides enable you to add words to suit your needs and finally 2 different sized PDF scaffolds that children can use to write on (If photocopied the bubbles will disappear to leave the writing that has been completed.)

Read Write Inc RWI Set 1,2 & 3 Sounds Assessment Checklist

A PDF printable Read Write Inc RWI Set 1,2 & 3 sounds assessment checklist I created this checklist to keep track of my Year 1 class and any gaps in phonic knowledge. It is helpful to track progress of any children who you are giving 1:1 RWI tutoring as well as being suitable for the whole class. Helpful when choosing sounds to focus on leading up to phonics screening. I made my own because I couldn’t find anything similar that met my needs. updated 9/10 /19- the ‘th’ sound was listed as ‘t’ in error so please download the update if already purchased. updated 14/9/20 - to include the additional RWI sounds.

Y3 No Nonsense Spelling ppts - Full year (split into half terms)

(4)
This resource is a huge time saver! I produced these ppt’s to correlate with the No nonsense spelling framework. This worked successfully in Y3 as it meant I could literally open up the ppt each morning and I was good to go. All spellings on the no nonsense spelling programme have been spread out across the yearly ppts (split into 6 half terms) to ensure coverage. Again, this is to be used alongside the No Nonsense Spelling programme.

Eight Free phonics worksheets, covering cvc words, cvcc words, ‘ck’, ‘ee’/‘oo’, ‘sh’, ‘ar’ and ‘or’ providing valuable back up work to lessons. Great assessment tools. Written for ages 5-6 but can also be used with older children requiring catchup help or those with special needs. These sheets are compatible with all phonics schemes, however as different schemes introduce sounds at different time, just check that your pupil knows all the necessary digraphs to complete the sheet. For example, the word ‘shark’ has both ‘sh’ and ‘ar’ and so both should have been learnt before expecting the child to read and spell this word.
