This is the first lesson of a scheme of work investigating Life in Medieval Times, the Medieval Church and the Black Death. This lesson is ready to teach and includes all worksheets and resources needed. During the lesson pupils will: - Identify what they already know about life in Medieval England. - Complete a true or false activity to test their knowledge about life during the period. - Complete an image analysis to understand the types of structures that might exist in a medieval village. - Complete an emotive task to try and understand what it might be like to live in a medieval village. - Complete a card sort to identify the key aspects of life during the period - Compare modern homes to medieval huts. In this script the Senior Leadership Team are meeting to discuss ways that the can ‘punish’ the school PE team for their misdemeanors. Different teachers imagine different types of punishment taking the audience on a journey through the Middle Ages, Tudor and Victorian times. The script has 20 parts but could be easily adapted to 30. Best suited for KS2 but could be adapted to lower/higher ages. I use these in 'quiet time' (I hear a group of children read 1:1 whilst others get on with consolidation tasks independently). I give them a green pen to write the capital letter at the start of each sentence and a red pen to do the full stops - they really respond to this.

They can even design their own stamp. This can be used for many subjects/topics across the curriculum. I have used it for KS1 seaside holidays in the past, but could also be used in Geography, Literacy, MFL etc.
