This is a Y6 SATs revision Reasoning treasure hunt. I have taken questions from the Reasoning paper samples, and I have rewritten them. There are 24 Green [easy], 24 Yellow [middle] and 24 Red [tricky] questions. I have laminated them and strung them around the school. It was a little light relief for SATs revision and the children loved it. I have also included the answers. Enjoy!

Arithmetints colouring puzzles are an ideal way for students to develop and practise their mathematical skills. This unique puzzle aims to embed children’s understanding of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 10x table facts. This lesson is an ideal introduction to compass directions for younger children. It is part of Our World, a Geography unit designed for students in KS1 and lower KS2 (Y1-3), but can also be taught as a stand alone lesson. The presentation introduces the four cardinal points of the compass (North, East, South and West). It then challenges students to describe the position of objects using these compass directions. The activity worksheets are differentiated two ways: Easier – Students describe the position of objects using compass directions (simple questions). Harder – Students describe the position of objects using compass directions (mixed questions). Extension – Students fill in the blanks on a compass using different vocabulary. An easy to use Excel Spreadsheet to analyse the maths test scores from the 2023 KS2 SATs though Question Level Analysis (QLA). Papers 1 (arithmetic), 2 and 3 (reasoning) are analysed. Will highlight students’ areas of strength and weaknesses in key maths areas including number, calculation, problem solving, handling data, and shape and measurement. Simply add the students’ name and their score and the spreadsheet will update and produce graphs.

A neat Powerpoint demonstrating equivalent fractions with worksheets to go with it. Students have to find equivalent fractions and determine missing numbers within fractions. Ideal for an introduction for KS2 or low ability KS3 learners.

A selection of 5 images designed for actual size Numicon pieces. Children match Numicon pieces to the pictures (A4 size) or experiment further with numbers by choosing alternative combinations of filling in each picture. An optional recording sheet is also included within the download to encourage pupils to record which shapes they used and to add them together to find the total. These are great for differentiated learning - LA pupils can focus on matching shapes while HA pupils can extend to number bonds and addition. The students in my Reception class loved these sheets and would often choose to write down the numeral next to each shape that they used on the original picture sheet, and then count all holes to find the total, recording in whichever way they chose. There are lots of possibilities to explore and secure number sense.
