Created for my SEN year 7 group, this has been a much enjoyed scheme. It includes every lesson powerpoint as well as resources, videos and a scheme for learning which will last approximately 25 hours depending on group ability. It can be easily adapted or you can just print the worksheets and run as a lesson.

This is a fully resourced, fully differentiated and high-quality 9 document lesson that only takes about 5mins of prep time, depending on how fast you are with scissors! It’s based around creating recipes from random ingredients. Students will use imperative verbs to write recipes. I created it for my KS4 SEND class but it would work a treat for primary, early KS3 and EAL learners too. It could quite easily work as a fun transition activity on an open/taster day etc. I tried to make it as visual and fun as possible- Instructions isn’t the most exciting of topics! I used it for an observation and it was graded as Outstanding. You could easily extend it to include writing restaurant reviews or using some drama etc. Included: Lesson Plan - includes WALT, differentiated WILFs, primary national curriculum targets and differentiated ability group information. 3x worksheets (fully differentiated HA, MA and LA) PowerPoint - visual with WALT, WILFs and opportunities for self assessment and challenge. Persuasive devices are tricky for students to remember and use in their analysing and writing persuasive texts. We have solved that problem for you and created these highly attractive charts that your students can use as a reference point in your classroom. We have used the popular acronym AFORREST as a way of helping students remember the different devices. Students often have difficulties doing plans for assignments. This lesson shows students 4 types of planning. Venn Diagrams, Lists, MindMaps and Free Text. Word Clouds are a great way to share vocabulary without making an obvious writing frame. Students with SEN can access the vocabulary and other students will appreciate the design. Not only that, but words at different angles make it more interesting to read and encourage dyslexic students to turn words around to visualise letters appropriately. Also different fonts can be used for easy reading. I've shown an example, which can be used for planning a holiday in England. There are also visual prompts included too.
