I’ve designed this for the whole school, specifically to celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday.
There are some video links for students to watch but there should be a link to each subject (apart from ICT - apologies)
The idea is that students are made aware of the idea that Shakespeare is applicable to every subject and not just English.
There are also form time activities for students to complete with tutors.
A bundle of seven Year 3 or Year 4 reading comprehension activities, or informational text activities, about the New Seven Wonders of the World: the Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu, Petra, the Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer, the Colosseum and Chichen Itza. The activities are great for class work, distance learning or home schooling.
The activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers.
Each resource is ideal for a homework activity, a reading group activity, guided reading, exam/test preparation etc.
Answers, for teacher use, are on the final pages of the documents.
Time allowance ( one hour)
5 minutes - read through the text individually.
40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
15 minutes - Teacher and students go through the text and answers.
