Obviously based on the counter game but again with a knowledge and tactical basis. I have created 3 differentiated versions, [a] is simply a series of generic topic labels, version [b] adds the dimension of specific alphabetic starting letters and version [c] is similar but with perhaps more difficult starting letters. Both sets of letters and topic labels can be easily changed.
All of my activities are created on an Acer Chromebook in a series of Posts on a Google Blog.
I know nothing of computer coding but started with one piece of free coding and have been adapting that by incorporating additional free coding.
They are created as TEMPLATES for online interactive resources.
So, if you have a blog, or want to create one to try this concept out, simply copy and paste the text in the downloaded text file as a NEW POST and PUBLISH.
If the concept works PLEASE let me know and I will add other TEMPLATES I have created.
The original activity can be found at https://learnanytime-mycreations.blogspot.com/2023/05/connect-4-1c.html
The activities are meant to be fun, flexible and differentiated.
They are meant to develop transferable skills and be cross curricular.
As a result they hopefully reinforce small chunks of information and give a better understanding of a topic.
I have sorted them into LEARNING, PRACTISING and TESTING activities and will add activities for each grouping if the concept works.
Most of the activities are aimed at UK National Curriculum KS1 and KS2.

Based on the classic game, this engaging activity can be used in classes of all sizes and abilities. Entirely customizable, up to 35 questions can be set at a variety of difficulties. Perfect as a REVIEW activity, a reward activity, a BACK TO SCHOOL (or END OF TERM) treat or just an exciting way to practice questions on a topic / evaluate students’ ability. This quiz game is ideal for use in ONLINE or DISTANCE LEARNING classes and will keep students engaged from start to finish.
The activity is simple to set up, each slot corresponds to a question slide, just type in the questions and answers for your students. Questions have been set at three difficulty levels that correspond to their position on the board, this helps the teacher to differentiate throughout the class and enables classes with a broader range of levels to play together (this can be checked on the slide page).
The PPT comes with a simple instruction slide for students and has automatic sounds and both 30-second and 1 minute countdown timers. This version combines all previous products with BOTH vertical and horizontal question and answer slides. Also included is a separate, question-free, fully enabled game of Connect 4 which can serve as a great break time activity for students, or just a reward as part of a class.

v2.0 I have combined both horizontal and vertical versions into one product! You can select 30 second or 1 min timers. Better animations and timers. Totally updated game board with better gameplay (you can only choose valid game moves) and clear visual cues for clickable drop zones.
v1.3 Edited activity for smoother play in online classes and tidied up animations.
A theme with separate areas of focus, firstly children learn all about their bones and their skeletons. Discovering how to keep their bones strong and healthy and finding out what happens when bones are broken. Then children become archaeologists as they dig up the remains of exciting new Dinosaurs – their own creative creations. They learn about these wonderful creatures; what they ate; how they moved and what animals today are their closest relatives. The children will invent their own dinosaur, classifying it and naming it. They then explore possible explanations for the death of the dinosaurs!

A fun-packed theme bursting with great learning opportunities for early years. Children are engaged and motivated to find out and think about water in a range of different scenarios. They explore and investigate all the ways we use water and consider what life must be like without this precious commodity. They learn how people got water in the past and how they used it. After splashing in puddles and making music with the rain it’s off to the seaside to spend some time at the shore. Then over and under the waves they go, messing about on boats with pirates, diving down deep to see the richness and variety of marine life.
