Here is a complete term's medium term planning based around the book Percy the Park Keeper. The pack includes a plan for each week detailing the Early Learning Goals covered, learning activities, enhanced provision opportunities, weekly homework and a curriculum plan overview which can be shared with parents.

This assembly starts with some nice optical illusions which leads on to the concept of perception. It then looks at various stereotypes in school such as Jocks, Class Clown etc and looks at the qualities of each, and asks students how they would like their peers to perceive them. It then looks at how future education or employment would perceive them looking at the information the school would provide them with - Attendance, behavior points, achievement points, GCSE's and the qualities these would show if they were good. It also considers social media and how students should be aware of what they post now could be seen by future employers. The last few slides are to be filled in by me as they are specific to my school where I will be going over the best attendance, behaviour etc in the past month to hand out a reward. This Reading Comprehension worksheet is suitable for higher elementary to proficient ESL learners or native English speakers. The text recounts the remarkable story of Malala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani advocate for girls rights to education. After carefully reading the text, students are required to complete some comprehension exercises including a comprehension questions, True or False exercises, a definitions match exercise, a fill in the gaps exercise, a multiple choice exercise and engage in an in-depth discussion.
