Full lesson (1 hour 30 mins) on hypotheses and aims for Year 1 AQA Research methods. It goes through what null and alternative hypotheses are. It also shows the differences in structure of experimental and correlational hypotheses. A homework sheet with sample exam questions on aims and hypotheses is included as well.

For AQA Psychology Specification. It covers Independent and Dependent Variables, Conditions, Extraneous and Confounding Variables, and Operationalisation. It is a powerpoint with a notes sheet that the students take their notes into. This notes sheet then has numerous activities inbedded in it that the students complete throughout the lesson. It takes me 1 hour 30 mins to cover this lesson using these resources.

It includes a fun activity which can be done for open evening- serial killer or psychologist (the descriptions should be stuck on the back of the photos for each card). After covering the features of Lombroso’s theory they examine their picture to see if their criminal has any of those features.
