GCSE PE Exam Revision booklet - Part 1

(9)
This is the first part of a revision booklet I am producing for Year 10 and 11's completing the GCSE PE course. This first section covers the topics of The Active Participant, Demands on Performance, Health, Training, Diet, and various other sub-topics... The second part is still in production but a change in my job role has delayed this. I hope to complete the second and final part within the next month... ready for GCSE revision ;) Hope this is still of some help.

Need to write an IEP?

The first of two files is an example proforma which can be used by schools to develop adequate and effective IEPs for their students. The second file is a bank of comments that I have been using for the past decade in completing IEPs at the EBSD school I work in. These can be easily adapted to your needs. I hope it proves helpful.

Fitness Testing

(0)
A range of fitness tests, including instructions and comparison information, for upper secondary aged students. Giving detailed descriptions on how to perform the tests and what, if any, equipment is needed, these sheets can be given to your students as an independent task, group work or peer-on-peer teaching tool. Use these as baselines for circuit training or as a part of a more comprehensive Health-related Fitness scheme of work. Complete with an editable record spreadsheet, so you can track your students progress.

Both theory exams and practical assessment proforma are included in this pack. The two exam papers are almost identical, however the differences show how easy it is to adjust them for your specific needs. The blank Practical Assessment proforma can be used to assess students' practical skills in two sports as well as an aspect of fitness, as a fun way of ending the year. I hope they are of some use. Enjoy!

Market Research - Battle of the Brands

(0)
A basic Business Studies lesson activity for the topic of Marketing. I used the Powerpoint activity to get them thinking about the differences between known-named brands and own-named brands. You can use the images that I’ve taken from Google to hand out as a discussion starter to see what differences in packaging students notice also. The questionnaire sheet (with 3 copies per page) was used for a blind taste-testing session where we compared Haribo sweets to local shop versions of the same sweets to see if students could distinguish between them… as well as seeing if they liked the popular ones of the cheaper alternatives! The results were very interesting! Enjoy!

9 Level Descriptors for Maths

(0)
With the changes in ways that school's are to track progress, and the freedom that schools have to choose their own, this set of descriptors could be used to complement or replace existing models. Split into the four attainment target areas, these will help to track individual progress of your students in a clear and concise way. Special target sheets can also be developed to help students understand what it is that they need to do to achieve the next level up. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Each paper with a variety of question types (multiple choice, short-answer, cloze questions and more) covering periods of history from the Medieval Ages through to Britain between 1939 and 1974. These exam papers have been made up specifically for my EBSMHD school but could be easily modified for use elsewhere. Whilst there are no mark schemes for the Year 9 and 10 tests yet, it is something I will be looking into shortly. Hope they are of some assistance. Enjoy!
