Year 1 phonics word cards

(1)
This set includes at least 20 cards for each phonics sound with a variety of words. The cards have been made to match the soundswrite phonics scheme. There are pdf files in the download and also editable word document files too. If you want to change the font/add pages of specific words that you need then you can do this via the word document files. They are a fantastic time saver as each set is the same colour- so you can file them together easily. They can be used as flashcards in phonics lessons, to display on phonics working walls or to be used as cards within continuous provision activities.

Year 1 and 2 common exception word cards and alphabet display

(1)
A fabulous full set of Year 1 and Year 2 common exception words and alphabet display lettering in shades of green! A great way to display the words in the classroom so that the children can become independent in finding out how to spell them. All they have to do is remove the right key fob from the wall and find the word- fobs really cheap to pick up from ebay!
Construction area headings

Construction area headings

(1)
A set of construction area headings as seen on my instagram page @mrsteacher_ks1. They are titled ‘research it’, ‘design it’, ‘build it’ ‘save it’ and photograph it. The idea is that these cards will help you to designate certain spaces within your construction area for the different aspects of the designing and building of different models and structures. Only available in PDF form as they were made on canva- they cannot be edited to be a different font/size/colour etc. Also comes with design sheet templates which can also be used for children to draw their designs on before building. Again this is in PDF format only.

Year 1 Phonics sound cards

Year 1 Phonics sound cards

(1)
A full set of all of the sounds taught in Year 1- we follow the Sounds Write programme so I have made these to fit in with that scheme however they can be adapted for any scheme/sound family etc. Each card strip displays all of the sounds within a unit with a word in brackets to demonstrate use of the sound e.g. ay (hay), er (herb), igh (fight) etc. Perfect for aiding children with their independence in being able to select which spelling they think they need for a particular sound. The download includes both word document and pdf file.

(0)
Kindness notes that can be used in your class- either written by a member of staff who notices something lovely about a child or for children to send to one another. Great as a PSHE activity or to use as part of Anti-Bullying week or World Kindness Day.
All about me questionnaire KS1

All about me questionnaire KS1

(0)
A perfect questionnaire to use at the beginning of the school year to help you to get to know the children a little better! Suitable for KS1 but could be edited for older children!
Golden time chart
lauraloo7lauraloo7

Golden time chart

(0)
Golden time chart starting at 30 minutes and working down to no golden time in 5 minute increments. The idea is that the children each have one of these cards in their drawer/tray/folder with a photgraph of their face cut out. At the beginning of the week they put their face onto 30 mins. If they lose any golden time, they have to move their face on their chart. Having individual charts rather than a whole class chart minimises humiliation for a child who has lost any golden time. I also keep a separate log of how many minutes children have lost in a notepad on my desk (in case any children don’t move their name correctly)
Curriculum folder templates

Curriculum folder templates

(0)
A selection of resource sheets used in my History coordinator file. Lots of people have asked for the templates through instagram @mrsteacher_ks1. The fonts I have used on the document are: ‘destain alternative’ and ‘DK Lemon Yellow Sun’ in case you wanted them to look exactly the same. Downloadable as PDF and word document so font/titles etc can be changed accordingly.
Number poster
lauraloo7lauraloo7

Number poster

(0)
A resource I have used both in my maths area and creative area as an independent task to support the children’s understanding and recognition of numbers within 20. The children have to write the number, draw the counters for the number onto the tens frame, stick some objects onto the sheet to represent the number e.g. stickers, sequins, buttons and then draw a picture to represent the number e.g. 5 flowers.

Colour mixing with paint techniques cards

Colour mixing with paint techniques cards

(0)
These cards explain the primary and secondary colours as well as tints, tones and shades. They also show how to make all of the colours by mixing different paints together. I have made them specifically to tie in with the KS1 art curriculum. Perfect to laminate, hole punch the corner and attach to a key ring as a visual guide for the art table or creative area. I will be hanging mine on the wall next to my bottles of red, blue, yellow, black and white paint.
