Phonics Screening Poetry -Phase 5

(3)
This is a lovely way to revise Phase 5 and have a go at reading alien words ready for the Phonics Screening Check. The booklet includes a little poem to revise each Phase 5 sound, the children then need to look closely at the poem to find the words that have that sound in, as well as read the words in the grid and sort out the real words from the alien words. There is also a handy visualise page which I sometimes use to check if the children understand what the poem is about, it is another way of ticking off the comprehension and poetry objectives whilst still working on sounds!

Advent- Acts of Kindness Activity

Lovely activity in the lead up to Christmas. Each child has a Reindeer/Santa. Starting at the bottom of the scroll or beard, each day they try to follow the act of kindness such as smile at a friend, when done they cut it off until the whole scroll has gone! This includes a Rudolph version and Santa's Beard version both in colour and black and white. Both are also fully editable so you can write your own acts of kindness on.

1 weeks worth of English planning based upon a witch visiting our classroom during Halloween week, I set up a crime scene with a witches hat/broken broom stick , slime etc this created the basis for our writing the rest of the week. We read Room on the Broom to develop ideas further and so that the children could see witches can be nice/friendly.

These are how I mark childrens writing and Maths, they stick in a bookmark each lesson and all I need to do is tick off the things they have achieved and circle something they need to work on next lesson. The children know what the pictures mean so instantly understand the feedback its then easy to see progress from lesson to lesson. Fully editable.

Rainbow Challenge Display for Continuous Provision

This is a resource pack to create a rainbow challenge area in your classroom. The idea is that in each area of your continuous provision you have a challenge for the children to complete which are linked to the curriculum objectives. Each time they complete a task they collect the corresponding coloured lolly stick and place it in their pocket on your display until they manage to do all tasks and complete their rainbow! Included is the title, pockets for each child either with a unicorn or dragon with photo or with just their name, signs for each area in your provision which detail the task, and a certificate for those who complete or do good work etc. Everything is editable so that you easily chnage the tasks week by week.

All About me Bag template ideal for transition, new class or starting school

Get to know your new class with this lovely activity, just buy a pack of paper bags and use the template to create these All About Me bags as pictured. The children need to bring them back with 3 items inside that tell you more about them. I used mine on moving up day this year and made my own to introduce myself to the class. They then fill in the back piece in class and stick on the bits to make their own bag. This is then taken home to be filled with items and returned in September ready for show and tell! File includes pieces to stick on the bag including the poem/all about me sheet and bag parts and also a letter to parents explaining what its all about :) Fully editable.
