AQA Spanish GCSE : Global Issues Photo Cards

(0)
In this pack, you will find 10 high quality photocards for the new AQA Spanish GCSE on one of the 12 topics covered by the syllabus: Global Issues I hand-picked the photos on these cards and discussed them with my students from a range of abilities. Everyone should find something to say about the photo, especially on topics that students generally find more difficult, such as customs and festivals or global issues. The questions on the cards have been finely balanced, and like in the real examination, they offer opportunities to use a range of tenses and timeframes. The teacher questions have been conveniently grouped on one single size of A4 in order to keep your printing costs down and to save paper and the environment. You may decide to either stick to the suggested unknown questions like in the real examination, or you may choose to pick your own question from the last page which offers a convenient way to tailor the unknown questions to the ability of your students. For this reason, the cards are suitable for both Foundation and Higher tiers. These cards have been checked by a native Spanish speaker, and I put a lot of care to ensure that there are no mistakes in the language, the variety of questions that I used, and in the overall quality of this set. The licensing terms are extremely simple. You may use these cards as you see fit. You may reproduce them, pass them to you colleagues in other schools and encourage them to buy their own license if they decide to use them too. You may not however translate them, resell them in whole or in part, or include them in some of your work that you intend to sell. You may want to consider buying the full pack of 120 photocards covering all the required topics: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/120-high-quality-spanish-gcse-photocards-for-aqa-12000761 In addition to a generous discount, this pack gives you free access to the original Word files too!

This resource is a great way to engage students into better understanding the Global Issues within the framework of the texts learned. It forces students to think outside the box and create GIs for the texts studied and form links between different texts. Included: Google Slides with the complete game - easy to alter to add the texts you have read with your class. Lovely Global Issue posters in PDF format (A3 size for classroom display). This game is actually very fun and can get competitive! It helped many of my students decide what they would focus on for their actual Internal Oral Assessment. Have fun!

Global and Social Issues - Spanish - Workbook

(0)
This 57-page workbook (including answers) contains GCSE-style reading, writing, speaking and translation questions for Key Stage 3 students. This workbook contains activities on the topics of Social Issues and Global Issues, from the AQA theme Local, National, International and Global Areas of Interest. There are 6 subtopics: Healthy living, illnesses, poverty and homelessness, charity work, environmental problems and helping the environment. For each of these subtopics, there are 6 activities: a reading task, translation (short paragraph) from Spanish into English, sentences to translate from English into Spanish, a writing task (short passage similar to the foundation writing exam), a photo (like in the foundation writing exam) and a role-play. There are also 6 extension activities which bring together all of the subtopics: a longer reading task, a paragraph translation from English into Spanish, a 90-word task, a 150-word task and a photo card (like in the speaking exam). This booklet can be used in KS3 or for revision in KS4 (foundation). It can either be used to supplement work in lessons as you teach the topics of global and social issues, or for assessments. It could also be set as cover work, as the answers are included.

Global Issues and SDGs 12-lesson unit of work

(0)
This is a comprehensive Geography unit that teaches the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by focusing on different global issues in each lesson. Each week focuses on a global issue, and each of the two lessons for that week looks at the global issue from the perspective of a high income country or a low income country. It was designed with Year 8 in mind, but would easily work for Year 7 and Year 9. It could be cut down for Year 6 lessons. It includes 11 lessons (including a prereq check and an end of unit assessment) as well as additional resources for the lessons. Please note the first lesson is labelled W1 L2 because in my school we start the term with an introduction lesson. Week 1: PRC and Introductions Week 2: Poverty in HICs and LICs Week 3: Education in HICs and LICs (plus a short mid-unit assessment) Week 4: Hunger in HICs and LICs Week 5: Climate Action Week 6: Gender (In)equality and EOU The lessons are saved as W1 L1 (Week 1, Lesson 1), W1 L2 (Week 1, Lesson 2) to help with the ordering. My pupils really enjoyed their learning on this unit, I hope the same is true for anyone who downloads and uses these lessons.

Here is a free resource for you to teach global literacy in your classroom creatively addressing the key issues. This 48-page pack will help you teach your students Global Goals for Sustainable Development published by the UN in 2016 to raise their awareness on global issues with a focus on Global Citizenship, Diversity, Freedom, Poverty, Hunger, and Environmental Issues. While learning many things about global issues and becoming a global citizen, the students will analyze a poem, read two non-fiction texts by Jane Goodall and Nelson Mandela and do the activities about them, write a bio-poem and a biography, an essay and a journal entry, analyze a cartoon and design their own, and prepare a presentation. The activities in the pack will enable you to differentiate learning naturally.
