Early Years Continuous Provision - Colour Monster

(1)
Early Years Continuous Provision - Colour Monster Suitable for Early Years or Year 1 This scheme of work has been planned with emotional literacy in mind. It could be used at any point in the year, particularly if you are helping children to understand and deal with their emotions. However, it would be a great transition resource for the first half term of reception. Part 1 - Each day includes one group or whole class activity that focuses on children dealing with and understanding their emotions. Each day covers a different book linked to a different emotion, these include: • The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas (all feelings) • Angry Octopus by Lori Lite and Max Stasuyk (anger) • Where Happiness Begins by Eva Eland (happiness) • Breathing Makes It Better by Christopher Willard and Wendy O’Leary (calm) • Felix after the Rain by Dunja Jogan (sadness) Part 2 - Part 2 includes a range of suggested continuous provision activities that you may want to put out for the children to access throughout the week. There is a number of activities listed, all engaging and fun. All of the continuous provision planning has links to the NEW EYFS 2021 Development Matters, specifically the ‘Children in reception will be learning to…’ section. This is detailed planning (3460 words). Please leave a review if you are happy with this product; I would really appreciate it. Literacy for SEN, Early Years, Primary, Reception, Preschoolers

20 Resources
Ideal for teacher training or NQT a literacy bundle that has a range of worksheets for SEN, Early Years, Reception, Primary and Preschoolers. Includes differentiated worksheets for students who are at the pre-writing stage, up to writing independently. Has worksheets for alphabet A-Z for matching, phonics and practicing writing and spelling. Includes differentiated comprehension from 12 nursery rhymes to 12 differentiated photos commenting on items in photos (3 sets of each for lower, middle and higher abilities). With the speaking, listening and writing we ask carers to email or let us know a couple of things that their child did at the weekend, so that we are able to prompt children or get other children to ask appropriate questions. We also check children's listening by asking 'Who went shopping, who visited family, who was ill, who walked the dog, where did they go, what did they buy' etc. before the students write what they did with help, by copying from a white board or working independently. Also includes a colouring activity to check children's listening skills. Adult asks them to colour a particular part of the picture a certain colour and records if they did it correctly. No prep needed - just cutting and gluing with the children. You may need whiteboards and pens to help the children with spelling.
