Interactive powerpoint with similar activities to those found on the DS and Wii games. The kids in my class loved in and it kept them amused for ages. We used it as a whole class and in small groups.
This resource is ideal for using as part of a Harry Potter classroom theme or IDL topic. It can be used for team events or for sorting classroom seating arrangements. My experience has been extremely positive and the children’s have responded with great enthusiasm. I used the ‘houses’ as my seating arrangements and then points were awarded accordingly. Simply change the children’s names to suit your own class. Hope you find this resource as useful as I have and it gives your children the same delight and excitement.
This planner was compiled for use with a very able P1/2 composite class however I am sure it would be an excellent skeleton for adaption further up the school. I worked a rotation based learning enviroment and had 8 ‘stations’ available over the course of each academic day with ‘must do’ jobs. I used this planner for 8 weeks with 8 different focus books and immersed the children in the activities for each book. My stations were
Literacy (Language)
Numeracy (Number)
Design Technology/Expressive Arts (Creation)
Play (Construction)
Collaborative Learning (Floor)
Science (Messy)
Library (Silent)
The focus books for this planner are:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Fantastic Mr Fox
The Twits
The Enormous Crocodile
Matilda
George’s Marvellous Medicine
The BFG
The GIraffe, the Pelly and Me
I am sure that this planner would be of use if even focusing on one of these great novels.
