3 Weeks worth of thorough planning based on the BBC School's radio version of Private Peaceful.
Week one&'s focus is on diary entries.
Week two&';s focus is on drama and persuasive writing.
Week three's focus is on letter writing, focusing on the difference between formal and informal letters.
The plannign makes reference to sheets/ resources that are saved on the school&'s hard drive. Sadly I&';m not uploading these as they're quite numerous but I they didn&'t take me long to make so I&';m sure you can make them too!

Thank you for sharing this. I have used it to give me a great head start on planning for Private Peaceful. Am aiming to link it to World War 1 history and local heroes using Quaker website, imperial war museum and BBC resources to create a classroom commemorative exhibition and invite parents and pupils to visit, rounding off with an assembly on The Christmas Truce ...wish me luck!

Thank you for this - it looks excellent. I didn't intend to look at any planning for a few weeks yet but I am very glad that the tes sent me this new resource. I shall be starting the new term with Year 6 and Private Peaceful. The bbc link contains many more notes and interactive resources too. I'll let you know how it all goes!
