There are three roll and name picture game boards that allow your children to create their own pseudonyms names for the aliens. Great practice for the Phonics Screening Check! Roll an alien name Boards 1 to 3 - vowel split digraphs a_e, e_e, i_e, o_e & u_e all with varied initial blends to start the word. Alien name race boards Board 1 -vowel split digraphs a_e, e_e, i_e, o_e & u_e Board 2 -vowel split digraphs a_e, e_e, i_e, o_e & u_e (easier version) Board 3 - vowel digraphs ai, ea, ie, ow, ue Board 4 - digraphs ar , au, ee, or & oe If the children role a six then they can choose their sound to use to create the alien name. EDITABLE VERSIONS INCLUDED **How to play: ** Roll the dice. When it lands on a number look for the sound designated to that number, ask the children to write it on whiteboard and soundout. If correct they can stay on that square of game board. Continue rolling and creating anmes for every alien they land on. For additional rules see rules attached to this resource. Here are 4 differentiated worksheets with halves and quarters. Each page has 4 questions. 2 worksheets include questions that involve the children having to explain their reasoning. Please feel free to edit.

This resource includes 4 games boards with coloured background and 4 without background so you can save toner when printing. I’ve also included some alien cards which you can use to plays snap or splat games etc. simply ask the children to roll a die and then move their piece to the number rolled. if they can read the word then they land on it, if not they cannot. Great for small groups or 1:2:1 sessions. To increase the length of a game you could use die with only 3 numbers or join two boards together. I hope that your class enjoy playing these boards.

This takes a little prep to do but my children enjoyed the freedom of moving about to get the tokens and match them to the definition of the term. It is fully editable so please feel free to add/remove terminology or create your own version. This resource includes 2 worksheets in which the children must solve what term is what and then write an example. They must finally find the terminology token and stick in correct box of the sheet. This resource structures persuasive writing for your whole class. I have used this resource for Year 3/4 but it can easily be adapted for year 5/6. In the past I have used this a whole lesson and written each sentence as a class to really create an in depth piece of writing. I would ask the children for their ideas and they would collaboratively come up with ideas and then write down after sharing them with whole class. I have also cut the sentence strips out and allowed my higher attaining pupils to play around with the structure. This resource allows the lowers a structure to follow and the opportunity to write without worrying about content and structure. I'm using these bookmarks to prompt and remind the children of our presentation expectations of our school. You could place children's targets on back or just use them to remind the children what page they are on next (As at a young age they have a habit of missing pages out!) This is a mastery worksheet involving adding money. There is a mixture of operations , statistics and fractions to ensure that children are still being exposed to previously recapped and upcoming concepts/learning. I have included 12 varied fluency questions and 6 problem solving and reasoning questions. Hi, Thanks for viewing this resources. It is 100% editable and contains mastery plus fluency and reasoning style questions. Included in this resource: 5 pages of questions and 2 worksheets. Interactive smartboard which contains quiz style slides and drag and drop activities. Works well alongside plickers. I cut the questions up and either use them to extend learners who have completed tasks or for plenaries/starters. This resource includes 5 game boards and the sounds au, oi, ear /ur pronunciation of ear, ar and ea. There is a mixture of nonsense and real words on each board. For best results print A3! I have asked children to select their playing piece from a basket of cars and used a large foam die! just to add a twist and gimmick to it. I have used these with a class of 20 plus but found they are great for use in interventions and 1:2:1 teaching. Each board takes roughly 20 mins to play with 3 players. In the past I’ve held small competitions to see who won overall. Hope your class love this game! Thanks

This game was loved by my mixed R/1 class so much that I created a 4 player A3 sheet version. It promotes reading and sharing. Included is a 2 player and 4 player version. This download includes 5 PDF documents with 4 game boards (20 boards in all). Each split digraph a_e , e_e, i_e , o_e and u_e have been split into three levels of difficulty and the middle ability has a copy with the sounds highlighted to further differentiate. Boards contain a mixture of nonsense/alien words and real. The pupils simply roll die and then move car and say word they land on. They don’t move if they can’ read the nonsense word. The other pupils really enjoy being the ref and check their friends learning. To make it a longer game use a die just up to 3. This can be used as a whole class activity / starter or with 1:1/group interventions. You could simply use this to time your children on how fast they can read the words. To extend game just overlap the game boards and make the track longer. Children could play best out of three or you could use the game boards to set out a mini competition/tournament around the classroom. It’s also great when doing transport as a theme and to check and stretch learning. I’ve included the word documents so that you can edit and create your own words. Great revision activity for the new Year 1 phonics screening check. No real preparation needed. Simply print and use. You only need toy cars or a playing piece and a die. Hi, thanks for viewing. Here is a series of 4-5 lessons that cover place value. Over 80 slides. The slides support the teaching of mastery by starting with basic concepts and taking all the class with you as the tasks get trickier. These tasks are designed for children to use practical equipment to support their learning. The lesson activities include true or false Q’s, individual tasks, guess the number an build, connect four and many more. We have recently introduced double maths sessions with a break splitting them, this has given us time to embed concepts and use the correct vocab. It has also allowed the children to discuss Maths at length and these slides support this. You can use this as a 1-2-1, small intervention or whole class resource.
