Alternatively, you may wish to purchase the worksheet generator here to create infinite versions of these differentiated worksheets: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/mental-multiplication-grid-worksheet-generator-11741569
In this pack, you will find 2 versions of each worksheet to suit your calculation policy (counting forwards and counting backwards on a number line).
4 differentiated worksheets:
A. Subtract a one digit number from a two digit number.
B. Subtract a one digit number from a two or three digit number.
C. Subtract a two digit number from a two or three digit number.
D. Subtract a three digit number from a three or four digit number.
An easy to use spreadsheet that will create differentiated mental multiplication grids for multiplying two single digit numbers up to 12x. Perfect for weekly tests, practising mental multiplication or interventions.
Follow the instructions on the spreadsheet and then press print when ready. Easy! Also, pressing print will just print the student's part of the worksheet - not the teacher's instructions - in order to save you time and paper!
Create as many versions of these worksheets as you like using the Excel based generator. This will simply create a randomly shuffled version of your worksheet.
The differentiation:
Bronze - Year 2 objectives (2, 5 and 10 times tables)
Silver - Year 3 objectives (2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 times tables)
Gold - Year 4 objectives (all times tables from 2-12)
A big time saver and a must-have tool for every teacher, tutor and teaching assistant.
A quick number assessment to test retention of written and mental calculation methods, including short and long methods, decimals and BODMAS.
2014 Curriculum.
No fractions related questions - purely number and place value based calculation.
In this pack, you will find:
- A board game
- A set of instructions (one low colour version for printing)
- 11 sets of times tables cards (2-12 times tables)
Pick a times table for your children to work on, give them the board game and off you go! Travel around the board collecting as many Easter eggs as you can. To win an Easter egg, just land on an Easter egg space and answer the times table question correctly. Keep going until either a player has collected a certain number of Easter eggs or until the time runs out.
You might choose to give children just one set of times table cards to focus on, or give them a range of times tables cards to make the game even more challenging!
Perfect to use as a morning starter, an end of lesson extension, a golden time activity or an intervention to practise times tables.
I hope your children enjoy this Easter treat!

A consolidating activity for KS3.
Two worksheets to choose from. Edit your chosen worksheet to input the first names of the children in your class.
The children can then work out the fraction and ratio of their names that fall into certain criteria.
Worksheet 1: Relies just on the first names of the children in the class, with no other knowledge required (e.g. number of vowels in the name)
Worksheet 2: Also requires research or prior knowledge of the others in the class before successfully completing the worksheet.
This worksheet can help children to discover the link between fractions and ratio.
This is a nice activity to introduce the idea of ratio, by using sequences. Suitable for KS2.
I found it useful to use pieces of card (e.g. 1 yellow for every 2 blue) to visually demonstrate beforehand (using volunteers - each holding the correct ratio) and show how to record this into a table on the whiteboard as you go, before using this resource as the main activity.
I also allowed children to use counters at their table to aid them whilst completing the worksheet, as this was very beneficial to some learners.
A pack of quick, self-initiated activities for children to practise multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1000.
Work includes card games and dice-generated activities.
A blank template from 10 million to thousandths allows children to understand the place value of a number and to multiply or divide it by 10, 100 and 1000 easily.
A fully resourced lesson on finding the missing digit within addition and subtraction questions. This allows children to practise inverse operations and apply written methods in a fun and interactive way.
The lesson is designed as a code breaking lesson, where children must solve the missing digit problems in order to save a class prized possession. A lesson plan, 8 differentiated worksheets, a letter from the villains for the starter and an answer sheet is included.
The questions are differentiated and cover:
- 2 digit by 2 digit addition
- 2 digit by 2 digit subtraction
- 3 digit by 3 digit addition
- 3 digit by 3 digit subtraction
- 4 digit by 4 digit addition
- 4 digit by 4 digit subtraction
- Decimal addition
- Decimal subtraction
This gives you the flexibility to choose the appropriate level for your class, or differentiate for different groups within your class by assigning each group a different villain's lock to break.
A poster/learning mat to show the main factor tricks needed to quickly find whether a number 2-10 is a factor of a large number.

Children must race against the clock to complete their selected times table race before the time runs out to catch the Pokemon! Cut out the times table races into individual slips with a race on each for the children to select. As a guide, allow 45 seconds for the 'times tables in order' race and a minute and a half for the 'times tables out of order' and 'division facts' races.
Children can track their times tables progress by collecting a Pokemon every time a new one is learnt. Children colour in the Pokemon they collect.
The colours on the tracker (or 'Pokedex'!) represent KS1, Y3 and Y4+ progressing down the page.
Can they catch 'em all?
