I am a French native speaker, really enthusiastic about teaching my language and sharing resources. I spent all my childhood in France. I moved to England eight years ago to do a Masters in Education and Modern Foreign Languages. I then did my teacher training (PGCE) in Modern Foreign languages, at King's College, in London and was in charge of the French department in a London private school for many years. I now teach and work as a Housemistress in a British school, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This is a complete example of an Individual Research Project (IRP) with a completed log book.
The title of the research is based on the following topic:
Titre de mon sujet : Le rap français dans les banlieues
Problématique : Le rap pour Supreme NTM est-il une échappatoire pour ces jeunes
banlieusards français ? Comment arrivent-ils à dénoncer une société qui va mal à
travers ce genre musical?
This resource includes:
- A completed log book by a student with all the steps and tips to guide and help your student.
- All the sources that go with the project (an analysis of one of the sources to show students how to get the most out of their sources)
- An EDITABLE log book for your students to complete on their laptop.
Teacher tip: I actually gave this sample to my students before the summer and asked them to come back in September with a topic they want to research and start selecting a few sources so they can formulate a specific question or area of study in September.
Please check my other resources on the IRP and do not forget to check this resource for regular updates! :-) I will soon add an audio tape of a sample oral to go with this project.

ALL the posters and displays you can find in my French classroom:
- The weather displays (I put them next to the window and everyday a pupil changes the card depending on the weather outside - they love being in charge of the weather card - you can do a monthly rota)
- The Monster verbs (I have a whole wall next to my board covered with those verbs - I print them in A3 format so everybody can see them in the class - I find it so useful to have them all there - students find them very useful and check them constantly.
- The behaviour displays (two displays that I put each side of my whiteboard - I put positive ticks next to students name on the angel side of the board to reward good work and if names are written under the negative smiley, students know they are close to be given a sanction)
- The instruction displays (I have them all around my whiteboard and interactive board - ask students to use the target language to ask to go out of the class or get a dictionary - they find it very fun to ask in French)
- The idiom displays (I have a reading corner with French books in my classroom and these idioms are all over one of the walls - it is great for GCSE and A-level students to have interesting phrases to include in their writing and speaking)
- The opinion and intensifier displays (great for GCSE and A-level students to improve their writing and vary the opinions they use)
- The question displays (outside my classroom, I have French questions in speech bubbles as well as common phrases used in France - I print them on A3 paper too - you can add pictures of your students linked to the speech bubbles which looks fun and interactive)
