I did not quite realise how many of my students do enjoy listening to Spanish songs for the sake of learning Spanish! So I decided to do some guided work on a trendy little feel-good song to cheer them up after what has been a very challenging term. I hope it may be of use for someone else.

This resource covers all four skills well and presents the topic of volunteering: types of volunteering, what makes a good volunteer, etc

It includes group discussion and work, video and questions, speaking exercise, and lots of sample sentences. the cards on slides seven, eight and eleven need to be printed.

Listening activity which actually reflects the real situation nowadays in Spain (2018-2019). Students watch a video (whole class or individually) and answer the questions (multiple choice, short answer, etc.) This activity is ideally followed by the reading comprehension activity that goes with it (uploaded separately). I use it to introduce the topic.

I have adapted this trendy game as a teaching tool after playing the real one with my nephews. Great for repetition of vocabulary whilst having fun.

One of the most popular current songs among Spanish teens, great for the preterite tense. It includes a good few pre-listening activities to make sure the students make the most out of it semantically, syntactically and grammatically. I hope your students enjoy it too!

Here is a text I’ve written and some picture cards. I print, laminate and cut the cards individually, then hand the text out to be read in groups/ teams and the students have to put the cards in the order that the actions are mentioned in the text. There is an extension exercise at the bottom of the text too. I hope you find it useful.
