Book 2 looks at short narrative and informative texts and includes timetables and a calendar. Book 3 deals with short and medium-length narrative and informative texts. In each of the three books, pupils must understand the sentences or texts they read in order to perform the tasks and this ensures text comprehension. The three Puzzle it Out books offer a variety of motivating word puzzles and games. The Puzzle it Out books appeal to a wide age range, from the very young to older pupils who are still having problems with phonics. They can be used alongside any phonic programme.
