Help you children to uplevel their writing with these handy vocab display resources! I made this resource to display in a Y2 class - I told the children that they were no longer allowed to use the words happy, sad, said and walked in their writing and had to replace those words with the displayed synonyms. Can be printed in A3 and displayed, could be printed in A5 and taped to desks.

Diverse books QR codes to display in your book corner

I use QR codes in my book corner to promote positive use of technology. With the class ipads the children can scan the QR codes and listen to stories. I have made this into a bunting but could be used in a variety of ways on a book corner display or maybe displayed in a nice basket. Could also be used for a guided reading station - appropriate for ages 5-11

OUTSTANDING Lesson EYFS/KS1/KS2 Science/ KUW/ Earth Day / Communities / Water

This is a lesson that I did for a school inspection on Earth Day in an FS2 / KG1 class. Links to science, communities, Africa, Earth Day, water and states of matter, geography, how things work, knowledge and understanding of the world. I also did this lesson as a science hook lesson with a KS2 group linking it to a trip to the water plantation and learning about the water cycle. The lesson was graded outstanding in an external school inspection. Based on the story of ‘The Water Princess’ by Susan Verde, digital version of book is included, we learned about the problem of clean water and how not everybody around the world has ready access to clean water - we then decided to take action and made a water filter in groups. PPT and activity instruction resources included. Other resources needed for the practical activity.

The Perfect Outstanding Observed Lesson

A step by step guide on how to get outstanding in a lesson observation by a school leader and inspector. This is a guide we give to our teachers before an external or internal inspection. Great guide to look through as a teacher before any inspection or observation. School/department leaders: I have removed the school branding so that you can add your own if you would like to share this with your school or department.

This lesson was judged outstanding in ALL areas in a school inspection. Links to IB curriculum and Development Matters EYFS curriculum. 1 weeks planning included, I was observed on day 2 and 3 and both lessons were deemed outstanding in all areas. **Desert Survival Kit: ** Students engage in a role-play activity where they have to pack a survival kit for a desert journey. They can vote on items to include in the kit, and the results can be recorded as data. This activity enhances decision-making and social skills, and introduces the concept of data representation. This is a cross curriculuar maths lesson. Children are learning about contrasting environments in Understanding of the World - this lesson focuses on a desert environment. The learning objective being that children understand place value to 10 - they show 1:1 correspondence by making 1 mark for each vote. They can count the total and they can record the total using numerals. Everything is included; Lesson description, Detailed observation lesson plan, resources, ppts that span 4/5 days, clipboard task, environment enhancement planning.
