Chunking division in columns Each method contains 3 differentiated versions of the worksheet (LA, MA and HA) and a set of answers. The worksheets all start with a visual example and explanation of the method, followed by 8 questions to answer and an extension/challenge task. I have used these for homework and for independent class work in Years 4, 5 and 6. The sheets are all fully editable, so they could also be adapted for other ages. This is a Year 6 PSHE and Citizenship lesson about valuing differences, which focuses on the ways in which people are different to each other and why it is so important to respect this. Children can discuss what being different means to them, before exploring some ways in which we can acknowledge and value people’s differences. An independent or group task is also provided to reinforce the learning from the lesson. The lesson is aimed at Year 6 but could also be used across upper Key Stage 2. It is fully resourced with planning and relevant supporting materials. The timing of the lesson is approximately 45 – 60 minutes, but, depending on your PSHE timetabling, it can also be easily split into a pair of thirty-minute sessions.
