The Resourceful Reader's Shop

I'm a Primary Teacher who loves adventure stories with a historical or geographical link. I create reading comprehension questions, usually two sets for different ability, using SAT style as well to ensure a range of reading skills are addressed. Check out my blog where I review books that I've used or intend to use, from a classroom perspective.

This resource has a variety of questions for the book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson retold by Henry Brook. Each chapter has: a sorting the main events into the correct order where appropriate, a character description/discussion two sets of questions for every chapter and for the lower ability set, includes page numbers for each question. It is aimed at KS2 children, and can be used from Year 4 to Year 6, though for UKS2, some modification to the activities may be required. The questions are in the style of SATs and also have the marks available for each question, though can most certainly be (and indeed are aimed at) the year groups lower than Year 6. The book is an abridged version retold by Henry Brook and uses the 2006 edition. The files are Microsoft Word so they can be easily adapted for other abridged or non-abridged versions.
