I have uploaded my 3 week Literacy unit that I used with my Year 1 and 2 children in Spring term. Using the online picture book ‘Rosie’s Glasses’ from GetEpic, we wrote a narrative about Rosie’s world transforming from dull and boring to bright, vibrant and colourful. The pack includes 3 reading lessons (based on the VIPERS scheme) and 4 writing sessions including SPaG appropriate for Spring Term with Year 1 and 2. The final week focuses on writing with already made word banks and success criterias.
I have resourced some activities that allow year 1 to develop their money understanding. The activities are differentiated and colour coded: B tasks (basic skills needed in red), A tasks (advancing/applying skills in orange) and D tasks (deep understanding in green). These are planned alongside the White Rose Scheme.
I have also uploaded the pre/post assessment to match as a separate document, so these work alongside the resources.
As part of our transition, I have created some teaching slides (to go alongside my resources that are also available) to support KS1 children (my class has both year 1 and 2 children, so this acts as a refresher for the year 2’s and an introduction for the year 1’s) with the editing and enhancing process through the amazing ‘Here We Are’ book by Oliver Jeffers. The teaching slides are broken into 3 days, following our teaching process ‘My Turn’ which acts as sole teacher input/modelling, ‘Our Turn’ where the children help me practise the skill, and then ‘Your Turn’ where the children practise before completing the task. The slides also have an early morning welcome slide.
The resources including group, paired and independent work, as well as picture evidence sheets.
I have made some continent top trumps for KS1 children which aims to ensure the children know some features of each continent, including:
-Size of each continent
-Mountains
-Rivers
-Population
Here are resources for 1 week for my Off Phonics children. This pack includes the text for the week (DISCLAIMER I did not write the text, just edited to suit my children), 3 reading lessons (based on VIPERS) and a writing lesson aimed as a free write, based on the text. My group contains some VERY high ability Year 2’s, HA Year 2 children and some HA Year 1 children. Rather than adapt tasks, I adapt through support and extension.
I have uploaded the RWI handwriting sheets I use for intervention which help to encourage children to form the letters correctly. I DID NOT MAKE THESE - THEY ARE OFF A FACEBOOK GROUP SO TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THEM
I have resourced some activities that allow year 1 to develop their addition skills with numbers to 10.
I have uploaded 5 History lessons (using the uploaded knowledge organiser) ranging from the monarchy now, what a king/queen does/did, why we remember Queen Victoria and the Victorians and how times have changed. The resources include some adaptations for GD children, picture evidence and writing activities. The History themes are also specifically mentioned through the lessons (covered as key questions). It also includes an end of unit assessment.
I have uploaded my 2 week Colour Poetry unit which includes SPaG, reading and writing lessons leading towards writing their own colour poem. Differentiation of tasks is evident. VIPERS reading sessions include explaination and retrieval, with some ‘stand alone’ reading lessons included away from the topic.
Here are my teaching resources (with adaptations for each lesson) building up to the children writing their own Paddington adventure story. The pack includes reading resources, SPaG lessons, sentence writing and outcome success criteria. These lessons are suitable for year 1 and 2.
I have created some fun, light activities for my year 1 children’s first week back to school and these are the teaching slides that accompany the resources. They can be edited and adapted as you wish!
These are year 1 multiplication resources that are fully differentiated starting from practical to pictorial and applying skills to deep understanding within problem solving and reasoning questions.
I have resourced some activities that allow year 1 to develop their number knowledge and place value of numbers up to 100.

Pre/Post Assessments for Year 1 Maths units including weight/volume, money, time, position and direction (geometry), 2D shapes (geometry), fractions (of shapes) and fractions (of amounts). Most content runs directly alongside White Rose. The sections start with the basic skills needed for that unit, then advancing/applying skills and then deeper understanding.
Here are my teaching slides to accompany my Me, Myself and I resources that I delivered to my Year 1’s. Used alongside my resources, there is a weeks worth of lessons here.
Continuous provision ideas are within the slides.
I taught these sessions to Year 1 in the Autumn 1.

These resources were taught to my Year 1 class in Summer term, but could be suitable for Spring too.
