Job overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced KS1 or KS2 teacher to join our happy and hardworking staff team and lead the development of English across the mainstream primary school (2-11yrs). We are looking to appoint the best from across the Primary range. The successful applicant will take up the post in September 2024. The English Lead role is perfect for aspirational candidates wishing to develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment based around coaching and mentoring. 

The school is set in Netley Campus which includes Woodlands ASD resource base, Robson House PRU, Outreach and Language & Communication Team and an Adult Learning Centre. We are a large, culturally and socially diverse school with a strong inclusive ethos, driven by a committed and happy staff. The school is set in Regents Park estate, an area which has one of the highest poverty indices in England. We are very proud to have a centre for children who have Autism, and Acorns; our provision for two year olds.

The post is based in our mainstream primary school.


This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher with QTS and experience of KS1 or KS2 to work in our thriving Rights Respecting School, with opportunities to grow and develop. We are a growing mainstream primary with a separate autism resource base for 30 pupils and a centre for two year olds.

We pride ourselves on providing an environment where teachers have the freedom to teach and to grow.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • has QTS
  • has at least 2 years experience working in KS1 or KS2.
  • is a good primary practitioner wishing to develop further
  • is passionate, creative and hard-working
  • has a good knowledge and understanding of how to support children with early language acquisition
  • is able to engage with and enthuse parents
  • has excellent organisational and digital skills
  • would like to develop themselves further in middle leadership

Interview Process

In order to make our recruitment process as effective as possible, we will follow the procedure outlined below: 

  • Shortlist applications against the criteria
  • Interviews will occur : Week beginning 20th May 2024
  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to teach a lesson of 40 mins *preferably in their current school
  • This will be followed by an interview with a panel
  • Candidates can present a portfolio of evidence/project they have led on
