  • Think creatively to find effective practical solutions with limited resources?
  • Research and coordinate the delivery of engaging practical activities that enthuse both students and teachers?

We are a free school in our fifth year since opening and we are home to students in Years 7-11. Over the next few years, we will grow to become an all-through school for 1620 students aged 4-16 with a nursery facility. We are always looking for innovative and enthusiastic practitioners who can excite and motivate our students in their learning. Should you be interested in advancing your out of class practice, we offer a number of whole school project payments and experiences to further supplement your development. Wednesday afternoons at Bohunt Horsham are dedicated to teacher CPD; we are a close-knit team and we place a very high value on the development of our staff. As an iPad 1-2-1 school, we strive for original and inspired use of technology to aid learning and to impact positively on staff workload and ensuring a sustainable work-life balance.

We are proud to be part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with eight schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically; however, all BET schools share an uncompromising belief in high achievement and high expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education. Every BET school is unique, with its own distinctive identity, allowing staff to have autonomy over their work environment. We have a number of colleagues within our team who have returned to education, excited by the opportunities that our ever-expanding community offers. Feedback from visitors, trainee teachers, parents, governors and local politicians always highlights the positivity of our staff and students, as well as the warmth and openness with which they are received.

BET’s approach to teaching and learning is innovative and immersive – a rich blend of the latest education thinking, technology and practice both in and outside the classroom. As a school, we set the highest expectations for our students and ourselves and this is reflected in our results and the experiences of our pupils across the Trust. Our ethos is simple: enjoy, respect, achieve. Above all we value a love of learning and actively promote the characteristics that make lifelong learners such as curiosity, hard work, critical thinking and a thirst for knowledge. We champion values that will ensure our learners make the world a better place including empathy, tolerance and kindness. Our students are empowered and supported which enables them to build life skills such as resilience, confidence and courage, which will help them to overcome obstacles that may stand in the way of achieving their potential.

The role mainly involves providing technical support to colleagues, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and is ready to use, and that the right materials are available for particular lessons. Sometimes you may be expected to work closely with students to explain or demonstrate experiments or how to use equipment, as well as helping teachers with a class and supporting individual students on research projects.

Bohunt Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake a Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service at an Enhanced level and social media checks as well as completing a self-disclosure form. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships. Bohunt Horsham is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment.
