The antislavery movement was the first major campaign in Britain to involve ordinary citizens across all classes (as well as the slaves themselves) in the struggle to end the practice. As such it is a good example of how change can come about when people work together for a just cause. This booklet intends inspire and equip young people to take a stand against the continuation of slavery and injustice in the world today. The booklet is the result of a collaboration between the Citizenship Foundation and the Church Mission Society.

A resource to enable teachers to set up a political journalism competition in their school.

The Giving Nation Challenge is for students aged 11 to 16 in English mainstream schools. It is designed to be implemented across a whole year group. The resources have been written with Year 9 in mind, but can be easily adapted for Years 7 to 11. We are able to offer support to teachers to help them plan and deliver the programme. This lesson is based around a traditional poem about four children named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. It introduces children to the idea of taking responsibility for their actions in the context of tidying up their toys. A number of different activities have been suggested to reinforce learning. 'The Business of School Councils' is the report of research into the factors that contribute to effective school councils. It can be used to help schools set up effective school councils and other methods of listening to pupil voice.

This project introduces climate change from a range of international perspectives and promotes learning, dialogue and action on climate change through linking 11-16 year olds in schools and youth groups in the EU (UK, Netherlands and Bulgaria) with those in Africa (Malawi, Senegal and Kenya).
