Differentiated angles - Identifying, sorting, ordering and measuring

(8)
This is a resource made for my year 4 class, taken ideas from other resources and the internet and collated them altogether. Don't know if anyone will find this helpful but it is clearly differentiated 3 ways. HA chn could even begin to challenge themselves by experimenting how to measure with a protractor. (Ideas collated from primaryresources.co.uk from Philip Greenfield and Loucy Georgiou).

Addition & Subtraction word problems with estimation and rounding

(8)
Here are some word problems that I used with my year 4 class. They are mainly for addition with some subtraction. I encouraged the children to use rounding to estimate their answers before solving using the column method. This includes a success criteria for the children which they and the teacher can tick off. HA chn were extended to round decimals to the nearest whole number and to use the inverse to check their answers.

Year 5/6 Roman Numerals - Treasure Hunt

(1)
I was struggling to find an interesting way to teach and consolidate Roman numerals with my Year 5 class so I created this treasure hunt for the children to complete. Not only are the clues numbered with Roman numerals but they also feature questions (in Roman numerals) for the children to solve to find the letters to crack the secret message. Please feel free to adapt or change any of the clues to suit your school. The children really enjoyed this activity and spent a good hour rushing around searching for and working out the clues. This pack includes, a teacher sheet, an answer sheet for the children and large cards for the clues. I laminated the cards first before placing them around as it was a bit damp when we did this! The children had clipboards and paper to do any working out on. Note: Remember to make a plan of where the clues are hidden and place them at the number BEFORE stated on the card. So for clue one, I read this one out loud to the children and then said 'GO' and they all had to run off and find the first clue, the second clue was placed at the answer to the clue of number one, and so on... It took a long time to think of the clues (which is why they're so cheesy), so hopefully someone benefits from this activity! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Enjoy :)

DT evaluation booklet

In DT, we made rockets and I created this booklet to give to the PPA teacher in order for the children to evaluate the work that they had completed. This was made to be an independent activity, which could also be used as an 'early finisher' task potentially. There are 6 pages for the children to complete, including a front cover where we stuck a photo on of the finished product. It has been created in Microsoft publisher, so pages can be added/deleted or changed.

KS2 Spelling Booklet

I created this spelling booklet and gave it out to my children at the beginning of the year to take home with their home learning. I had quite a few parents saying they weren't sure how to practise spellings with their child, so hopefully this gave them quite a few ideas. It has been created in Microsoft publisher, so you can add extra pages if you like. This was also good to keep a copy in class, we quite often used some of this activities as 5 min time fillers or early morning activities.

Something that I used for forest schools, I made these for the trees on our school field and in our local area. They were laminated and attached to the trees using wool. They include facts about what the trees look like and how to identify them. This would be useful for forest schools, science and understanding the world.
