Investigating Sound - Pitch

(7)
Used in WJEC Light and Sound Unit for Science Today Entry Pathways Very brief and simple powerpoint to discuss volume with a focus on pitch with a few links. Worksheets have two tasks: 1) pictures of instruments to identify higher/lower pitch (you will need to borrow from music department and adapt worksheet to your own instruments.) I used 7 different instruments. 2) Using glasses with water filled in to identify different pitches E2 - Identify which part of the instrument plays high / low pitch. Compare two glasses of water to identify high / low pitch E3 - Identify and describe their findings on high/low pitch on the particular instrument. Compare four glasses of water to identify high / low pitch For SEN school working with Y7/8 pupils, but could be suitable for primary science

Worksheets to match WJEC Working with Electrical Circuits Science Today Entry Level 2/3 work. E2 - Pupils make a prediction whether a circuit will work based on diagram picture, build circuit then circle if it worked or not E3 - Pupils make a prediction if it will work, built circuit, and then describe why it worked/didn't work with an opportunity to write a response of what they know about how circuits will work This is for SEN School - working with Y9-11 pupils but suitable for primary science as well.
