Year 3 Mixed maths treasure trail - Publisher and PDF

Get your class up and moving , preferably outside, to solve this mixed maths treasure trail! (All questions match the 2014 Year 3 curriculum requirements.) How it works: There are 16 questions on the 4 operations - times tables , fractions, time, measure . Cut, then laminate the questions and dot the cards around your chosen work space in random order to form a treasure trail. Random order is important because the answer to each of the questions is found on the next question card in the left hand corner ( This forms the question card 'number'.) Put children into pairs and arm them with a clipboard, sheet of paper with space for each question number and any workings and of course a pencil! Give each pair a different question numbers as a start point to avoid congestion! ( I always ask children to come and check with an adult before going to next question. This ensures that if they make a mistake, they don't spend ages trying to find a question number that doesn't exist, but also slows the racers down a little! ) I hope you enjoy it - please leave feedback!

SATs revision with a difference! Enlarge the 20 posters to A3, tack them up outside in random order and take out your class to revise in the sunshine! Assign each pair a start number or word (these are found in the coloured flash on the page ) In pairs, pupils race to answer old SATs questions - the answer to each one gives them their next question number - although some have a specific instruction to follow first. Very motivating, they won't even realise they're revising! Please comment - it took a long time to make!

SATs revision year 6- extensive word problem treasure trail

Word problem treasure trail designed for Year 6 that is differentiated 4 ways - old levels 3-6 but still relevant in terms of the reasoning papers. The resource includes answers for ease of checking progress as children complete the trail. Children must answer the question correctly and follow any additional instructions at the bottom of the page in order to get their next question number. Ideal as a revision lesson in the build up to SATs- work in pairs and if the sun is shining, go outside! It has proven very motivating with my class - even for the most reluctant of mathematicians! NB - print in colour - question numbers are in coloured blocks dependent on' level' Please leave feedback - it took a long time to make.
