This package is for teachers delivering the new 2022 spec for BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care Component 2.

For teachers following my SoW, this is for week 25 after the completion of Component 1.

It has two presentations, one is 17 slides and is an introduction into the differences between health and social care services. Social care is included as the PSA case study will face barriers which need overcoming with support which may be social care based. This will be built on the following week where primary, secondary and tertiary services are explained. The second is 27 slides and gives opportunities for paired/group or whole class discussions so students can make their notes on activity work sheets in their own words. These will be a source of reference in the PSA.

Students will be expected to know the eleven different health conditions listed below and have an understanding of PIES needs for each as a stepping stone for looking at the provision for meeting their health needs with services.

Included is homework for both Levels 1 and 2.

The part of the spec covered in this teaching package is:-
