This Resource includes 2 different A3 worksheets in which students need to design an app based on a specified brief. Each sheet has several tasks and there is more than enough work for 2-3 lessons. An excellent extension for these tasks is to get students to create hi-fidelity mockups of their Apps on Microsoft Powerpoint. This worksheet works well for years 7-11 and can be used across DT, ICT, Art and Graphics.

This lesson is aimed Ks2 and is intended to teach the correct way to use punctuation when writing speech. It also focuses on descriptive and creative writing skills. It is an excellent lesson to see progress from beginning to end and is a great lesson for identifying misconceptions. This resource includes a powerpoint, a detailed lesson plan, a starter and 2 worksheets. I have found this lesson has worked best with year 5 and year 6 but could be used within other year groups depending on ability.

A worksheet for children to create their own character, this could be used in KS2 or KS23. The framework could be used in a Literacy lesson or used as an activity in an Art, Graphics or DT lesson. This is an enjoyable task so works really well as a cover sheet. The Keyword on the sheet is Biomimicry which helps to cover some of the DT KS3 National Curriculum. As an extension of this sheet students will often go on to design their characters digitally using design software such as Microsoft Paint, Inkscape or Adobe Illustration depending on ability. Using set times for each part of the design sheet, this worsheet takes at least an hour to complete to a high standard.

This A3 Worksheet is a great resource when you need to set cover for a music lesson but don’t have a non specialist to teach it. For this task students must create the branding for a new band called ‘Hazard’. This involves designing a logo for the band, an album cover, a picture vinyl and even a tour van! Photoshop Tutorial - Typography Development ‘Metallic Fonts’ Art/Graphics - I made this booklet to get my Graphic Design Students to develop their Typography. This tutorial is a step by step guide which will show students how to create a metallic 3D font. Skills Included Setting up a canvas Adding Text Changing Fonts and altering font size Adding Gradients Bevel and Emboss features Drop Shadows It is a very enjoyable lesson and helps to build student’s confidence when using Photoshop. All students achieved at least one piece of Design and some went on to produce 2 or 3 within an hour lesson. The booklet can be printed or uploaded onto a VLE for students to work through independently. This booklet is ideal for students who have only used photoshop a few times and are fairly new to the program.

Ks2-Ks3 Electronics This lesson acts as a good introduction to electronics and electronic components. The task has an A3 sheet with a Robot and students need to cut out the components of the A4 sheet (or you can prepare them before the lesson). They must then match the components to the functions by reading the descriptions. Once this is complete they can colour and decorate their Robots. This is a a great lesson for years 5,6,7 or 8 and can help cover some of the National Curriculum for DT. This resource is an A3 Tracker which allows you to track the learning and assess pupils as they move through a Carousel system for KS3 DT. I have designed this for use with a 4 subject rotation (Graphics, Food, Textiles and Product Design) - I have included an example of a near completed one that I currently use. I have also included adapted Assessment trackers to work with a 3 subject rotation as this is most common in Schools that use a Carousel system. These trackers can be glued into students books/folders and skills and grades can be highlighted as they move and progress throughout the year. They include areas to highlight where the assessment focus will be, and a place for students to self access their skills. Feel free to adapt and use to best suit your school.
