I love making resource to use in my science classroom. I try to make them as easy to use and follow as possible. We use a lot of Doug Lemon strategies across my school, so most of my more recent powerpoint resources will include buzz words such as 'turn and talk' to prompt pupils what the activity will be.

This powerpoint has a list of most of the common compounds pupils need to know for GCSE AQA Chemistry. It contains a few animated tasks, involving naming the compounds when given the formulas, writing the formulas when given the compound name, stating whether the compound is made up from covalent or ionic bonds and then drawing the dot and cross diagrams for the common compounds. This is good for revision, or for using the dot and cross diagrams when teaching covalent or ionic bonding.
All the key pieces of information needed for this topic. It includes the combined knowledge and triple knowledge needed and I have clearly boxed off the triple information. I hope this helps students with their revision.
I have made a table with all of the specification points and columns for students to write the date down of when they have gone through the information in lessons and when they have revised it. I have included if the specification point is biology only or higher only and I have highlighted the maths skills specification points in pink. Even if this is not in a format that will work for you or your students, it should be an easier format for you to manipulate into however you want to use it, rather than from the PDF specification document. I hope this is helpful for all of the super science teachers out there! ...Also, there is a front page for the booklet, but it is the last page of the document because the table was playing up when I tried to move it onto the second page!
A3 sized sheet with prompt questions and spaces to draw diagrams etc to revise the whole responding to the environment topic.
*I printed these back to back.
Revision questions for knowledge linked to the AQA specification. This revision sheet has questions for the trilogy biology nervous system section as well as the triple science biology. All triple science biology sections are indicated with (Bio Only).
These are set out one A4 page on the PDF. I print them four pages per sheet and double sided, so the ‘draw the symbol for…’ is on one side and the picture of the symbol is on the other. Students can use them to test if they can draw the symbol, or use them the other way up and see if they can remember the name of the symbol.
This lesson covers the first part of the infection and response topic, about pathogens, bacteria, viruses and reducing the spread of pathogens. At the end of the powerpoint there is a quick quiz to assess pupil’s learning.
This lesson covers the drug trials section of the infection and response topic, about how new drugs are tested and developed. At the end of the powerpoint there is a quick quiz to assess pupil’s learning.
This lesson covers the second part of the infection and response topic, about the seven communicable diseases that pupils need to know. At the end of the powerpoint there is a quick quiz to assess pupil’s learning.
A revision crib sheet linked to the specification points in the AQA cells topic (excluding cell transport), including cell organelles, specialised cells, microscopy, stem cells, mitosis and the cell cycle. The powerpoint has all of the answers on it. The powerpoint is hyperlinked, so if you only want to go through a few answers at a time it is easy to navigate during a lesson.
This powerpoint covers the white blood cell response section of the specification. There is a quick quiz at the end of the lesson to check pupil’s learning.
The revision sheet has questions linked to all of the specification points. The powerpoint has all of the questions and answers on it. I have hyperlinked the answer slides, so it is easy to navigate if you only want to go through some of the answers in a lesson. This resource include the content for both combined Trilogy AQA and the Triple Biology content too (at the end, clearly separated).
The powerpoint has all of the lessons for the Respiration topic on the GCSE AQA biology course. It has 51 slides in total and includes past paper questions and ideas for demonstrations.
This lesson is designed for spec point 4.1.1.5 for the AQA trilogy course. It also has some activities for looking at microscope slides, in preparation for the required practical. One of the resources in this has been taken from the AQA website and adapted for the lesson. I hope this helps anybody teaching the course out there :)
For each of the biology only combined science required practicals, I have made a slide of quick fire questions, linked to the topic the RP is about (not necessarily just focused on the required practical), the next slide has pictures of the RP, that you can use for discussion and it has some prompts e.g. what are the variables? And the next slide contain the mark schemes and examiner reports for some past paper questions linked to the required practicals and the general topics they are based on. For each of them, I have also included a pdf of past paper questions linked to the required practical or based on the topic (if I was unable to find a suitable question linked to the RP). I really hope people find this useful, as a basis of running through/revising the required practicals.
